  • CUREE announces name change -
    CUREE has changed its name to Consortium of Universities for Research on the Engineered Environment. This reflects its interest in research on other hazards, in addition to earthquakes. The aim of the organization is now increasing the resilience of the built environment for natural and manmade hazards, via research and educational activities centered in civil engineering.

  • CUREE Board of Directors election results -
    CUREE congratulates the Professor Maria Garlock (Princeton University), Professor Wilfred Iwan (Caltech), Professor Adolfo Matamoros (University of Texas at San Antonio), and Professor Charles Roeder (University of Washington) on their recent election to the CUREE Board of Directors.

  • Fenves officially named president of UT Austin -
    The University of Texas System Board of Regents has named Gregory L. Fenves the next president of The University of Texas at Austin. Fenves will assume the role leading the UT System’s flagship university on June 3.

    The regents approved the appointment at a special called board meeting Monday, April 20. Fenves was selected as sole finalist for the position at a Board of Regents meeting last month. [read more]
