|Wilfred Iwan awarded the 2007 George W. Housner Medal
Wilfred "Bill" Iwan, past president and current Vice-President of CUREE was awarded the George W. Housner Medal by EERI at their 2007 Annual Meeting.
The George W. Housner Medal of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute is awarded to recognize members of the Institute and others who have made extraordinary and lasting contributions to public earthquake safety through the development and application of earthquake hazard reduction practices and policies; or to recognize major engineering or scientific research contributions or advancements.
This, the most prestigious award of the Institute, and is granted to only one individual (or perhaps none) in each calendar year. This award is granted only upon the unanimous concurrence of the Board of Directors. Each recipient receives an engraved medal and framed citation.
