Position Title: Lecturer with Potential Security of Employment (LPSOE)

Description: The Department of Structural Engineering (http://structures.ucsd.edu/) in the Jacobs School of Engineering of the University of California San Diego, seeks outstanding applications for the position of Lecturer with Potential Security of Employment (LPOSE, which closely parallels the position of an assistant professor on track for tenure with the focus being on teaching).

Candidates should have a doctorate in structural engineering (or closely allied field), and a record of effective and innovative teaching at the undergraduate level in the areas of introductory structural engineering, mechanics of materials, computational analysis, and design, along with strong interpersonal writing and computer skills. The responsibilities encompass the teaching of core courses including laboratories, improvement of curriculum, development of new undergraduate educational initiatives, including the application of grants related to education.

Salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications based on University of California pay scales.
