Tenure-Track Faculty Position
In Structural Engineering and Mechanics

The Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) at North Carolina State University (NCSU) expects a tenure track faculty position to be filled in the area of Structural Engineering and Mechanics. Exceptional candidates in all areas within structural engineering and mechanics are encouraged to apply; applicants with expertise in modeling of structural systems or materials are of particular interest. The CCEE Department and College of Engineering have state-of-the-art laboratory facilities that span from nano-scale to full-scale, equipped to study many aspects of civil engineering systems from material characterization to large-scale structural systems, thus providing unique opportunities for collaboration. We are seeking a colleague to join a vibrant department with 47 faculty members, about 800 undergraduates and 315 graduate students. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong externally funded research program, and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in structural engineering and mechanics, especially in structural analysis and computational mechanics. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary initiatives to support the missions of the department and the college. Appointments are expected to be at the assistant professor level, although exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered at higher levels. An earned doctorate degree in civil engineering or a closely related field must be obtained prior to start date. Professional experience and a professional engineering license are desirable.
