THE IAEE AT FIFTY: A Brief History of the International Association for Earthquake Engineering

This special booklet, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the International Association of Earthquake Engineering, was given out to attendees of 15th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering (15WCEE) in Lisbon, Portugal in 2012. This book written by Robert Reitherman and Polat Gulken (President of the IAEE) takes a look back at the history and development of the IAEE.

Proceedings for the Golden Gate Bridge International Conference on Public Works for Public Learning

Produced in 2012 in partnership with the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (GGBHTD) and the American Public Works Association (APWA), this international conference featured many speakers from around the world and across the country, and highlighted examples of public works that developed education and outreach programs for the general public. The information presented focused on how to develop effective public exhibits and educational programs based on the themes of infrastructure, construction, and engineering.

Proceedings of the NEHRP Conference and Workshop on the Northridge, California Earthquake of January 17, 1994

The four NEHRP agencies -- FEMA, NIST, NSF, and USGS -- funded CUREE to convene a national conference after the Northridge Earthquake of 1994 to bring together researchers and practitioners to assess what had been learned from that event.

This four-volume set of papers is the most comprehensive single source of information on that earthquake, spanning the disciplines of Engineering, Social Sciences and Emergency Management, and Earth Science.

Proceedings of the Symposium in Honor of Wilfred Iwan

In this one-day Symposium, colleagues, former students, and others who have known Bill and his accomplishments gave brief talks, spanning an interesting array of topics:
• Earthquake ground motion and its measurement
• Associated building motion measurement and analysis
• Historical notes on earthquake engineering at Caltech
• Bill Iwan's effects on seismic public policy
• His association with CUREE, EERI, WSSI, GeoHazards, and other organizations
• Assessing structural performance
• Structural monitoring
• Wind effects on structures
• Practicing engineers and their use of research
• International aspects, including Bill's activities in countries such as Japan and China
